Aston 84 for 5
Wistaston 79 for 6
Aston win by 5 runs!
Aston under 13s won a memorable victory in a close match tonight. We batted first and scored 84 with a notable contribution of 23 from Oliver Sant.
It was always going to be a challenge to defend and when the Wistaston opening bat retired on 30 it looked as if defeat was in sight.
But the boys never gave up and tight bowling, fielding and great team spirit saw us through.
Notable performance from Steve Degg (2 wickets for 5 runs off 2 overs) and Rory Ewan (2 wickets for 6 runs off 3 overs including 1 maiden and a caught & bowled) but it was a great allround team performance!
JUNIORS MEET DARREN GOUGH
Darren Gough is now an ambassador for Colliers Cheese and the junior players were offered the chance to meet him at the Nantwich Show as their guests.
In addition to chatting to Darren and having mini cricket bats signed, they played Darren on a cricket game on the XBox. A number of the players beat Darren's score!
Let's hope the next Darren Gough is in the picture above - who knows!
